What exactly does a professional organizer do?

A professional organizer helps you declutter, optimize your space, and implement systems that are both functional and beautiful. At ORCA, we go beyond “tidying up” — we design intuitive, lasting organization solutions tailored to your lifestyle.

Is professional organizing only for people with cluttered spaces?

No, professional organizing can benefit anyone looking to improve their productivity, reduce stress, and increase overall quality of life, regardless of whether their space is cluttered or not.

What types of spaces do you organize?

We handle everything from business spaces to single closets and entire homes. That includes kitchens, garages, bedrooms, playrooms, home offices, entryways, pantries, and more.  We love a challenge!

How does the process work?

The process typically begins with an initial to assess your needs and goals. From there, we work hands-on to declutter, reimagine, and transform your space by developing and implementing a customized organizational system using our signature ORCA Approach.

Our signature O.R.C.A. Approach includes four phases: OrganizeRevitalizeCreateArrange.

How much does it cost?

Our standard pricing starts at $85 per organizer, per hour, with a 3-hour minimum per session or “wave”. We offer tiered service packages based on project size, and we’ll recommend the right number of organizers to get the job done efficiently and within budget. No hidden fees — just clear, upfront communication.

Do I need to purchase organizing supplies or materials separately?

Not necessarily! We can work with your existing supplies, or we can make curated product recommendations based on your preferences. For larger projects, we can assist with purchasing — you only pay for the products you choose.

Do I need to be present during the organizing process?

You’re welcome to be as hands-on or hands-off as you’d like depending on the project. Some clients prefer to be involved every step of the way, while others trust us to take the reins. We’ll guide you through key decisions (e.g., keep, donate, trash) and keep communication flowing.

It is recommended that you are present during the process to provide input and ensure that the system meets your needs and preferences. However, if you are unable to be present, the professional organizer can work with you to develop a plan for completing the project without your physical presence.

Keep in mind – this is a partnership!

Will you make me throw everything away?

No, the professional organizer will work with you to determine what items are important to you and find a way to incorporate them into the organizational system. We work collaboratively with you to decide what stays, what goes, and what gets repurposed. Our goal is to help you make intentional choices that support your lifestyle — not to force minimalism.

What happens to items I no longer need during the organization process?

Depending on your preferences, we can arrange for items you no longer need to be donated, recycled, or disposed of responsibly. We’ll discuss the best approach during the project.

How long will it take to organize my space?

The length of the process can vary depending on the size and complexity of the space, as well as the specific needs and goals of the client. However, a typical project can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks to complete. We’ll provide an estimate of labor hours and how many organizers we recommend. Our goal is always to work efficiently while delivering high-impact results.

Will the professional organizer respect my privacy?

Yes, the professional organizer will always respect your privacy and confidentiality throughout the organizing process.

What if I’m embarrassed about my space?

Please don’t be! You’re not alone — most of our clients feel this way at first. We are compassionate, professional, and 100% judgment-free. We’re here to help you reclaim your space and feel proud of it again.

What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?

We understand that unexpected circumstances can arise. In General, cancellations / rescheduling must occur at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled session start time. More details on our Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy are outlined in the Client Service Agreement.

How do you determine how many organizers my project needs?

We base the number of organizers on the size, complexity, and timeline of your project. After the consultation, we’ll recommend the most efficient team size to meet your goals and stay within your budget.

What happens if I need to pause or split up my sessions?

Life happens—we get it! You can pause or reschedule sessions with proper notice, and we’ll work with you to create a flexible plan that still moves your project forward at a comfortable pace.
